Lawrence Braud, MD, Vice President and chair of the Private Practice subcommittee of the Physicians Foundation, is an ear, nose and throat specialist with over 30 years of private practice experience. He serves on the Executive committee, grants committee, medical practice committee, strategic planning committee, finance committee and patient survey committee for the Foundation. He has served in the past as an assistant professor of otolaryngology at Louisiana State University Medical Center. Prior to entering private practice, Dr. Braud served in the United State Army as the chief of the otolaryngology department at Fort Ord Army Post in Monterey, California.
Dr. Braud has held affiliations with numerous medical and civic organizations. He is former President of the Capital Area Medical Society and the Louisiana State Medical Society. He has also served on several committees at a range of organizations, including: the Surgical Specialty Centre at Baton Rouge; Our Lady of the Lake Hospital; Blue Cross of Louisiana; and Louisiana Healthcare Cooperative.
Dr. Braud received his medical degree from Louisiana State University Medical Center, New Orleans, and completed Otolaryngology Residency at Brooke Army Medical Hospital, San Antonio, Texas.
