Initiative to develop and implement a series of supports and assistance for small practices around achieving meaningful use of health information technology

This three-part project will support the adoption of health information technology (HIT) for achieving meaningful use standards by Maine’s safety net primary care practices. The three objectives are: 1) implement an application hosting service to increase efficiency and reduce overhead costs for small practices; 2) develop an expanded application of an interface engine with the state-based immunization registry to accommodate small practices; and 3) construct a data pipeline from the MPCA data warehouse to the state’s emerging Health Information Exchange for purposes of supporting small safety net practices in Maine.
