Physicians for a Healthy California will work to rebuild California communities impacted by the most recent wildfires in Camp. These fires destroyed thousands of homes and medical practices displacing thousands more Californians and impacting their access to health services.
The funds will help physicians pay for loss expenses their insurance or other sources will not cover. For many doctors, the damage is significant. Many lost everything – medical equipment, vaccines, office furniture, computers and buildings. Most impacted physicians were forced to close their practice temporarily, reduce their hours and/or services. This devastates a community already impacted by severe physician shortages and leaves that community left without their doctors to care for their injuries or illnesses during a time when many also face the upheaval of destruction of their homes or places of work.
