Medical Necessity: A Study on the Correlation of Insurer Denials and Medical Malpractice Lawsuits
The purpose of the grant is to hire a researcher to develop the research methodology necessary to ensure an objective study on the correlation of insurer denials for lack of medical necessity and medical malpractice lawsuits. The demonstration grant should result in the following outcomes: documentation from medical liability insurers that the required data is available, a literature review on the topic, development of the research questions to be studied and a summary of expected results.
