Health Disparities, Health Inequity is Real

Health disparities, health inequity is real, and we need to address it. And so that also lands on the plate of the physician who is trying to take care of the community with all the resources that are available.

Systematic change, we need a change. We can no longer deliver care in the same manner in which we have struggled with for so many years. What can we do? It is now time for us to really be part of the conversation, all of us. Be part of the conversation and recognize those factors which are barriers preventing all people to have access to care.

One of the personal barriers that I encountered as a physician was not receiving the funding from the SBA stimulus money. When I received that initial denial, I was heartbroken, because I have provided services in our community
