Grant Details
Leadership Institute Advanced Curriculum
The purpose of the grant is to launch the Leadership Institute to enhance physicians’ skills against competencies identified as necessary for physicians to excel in organized medicine, advocacy, private practice, and academic medicine. In 2011, the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD) began providing an emerging leader development program that coincides with the AAD's Annual Meetings. The courses filled quickly and received positive feedback from participants. To build on the emerging coursework, the AAD is developing coursework for two advanced level programs. All three tracks are broken into five focus areas: Developing the Leader Within, Developing Others, Communications, Understanding Organizations, and Adapting and Transforming. Within each focus area, the Advanced and Mastery tracks will cover different content. This coursework will be offered at the 2014 and 2015 meetings and will offer Continuing Medical Education credit for participating physicians.
