Empowering physicians to lead in the delivery of high-quality, cost-efficient healthcare

The Physicians Foundation is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization that seeks to empower physicians. As the U.S. healthcare system continues to evolve, the Physicians Foundation is steadfast in its determination to strengthen the physician-patient relationship, support physicians in sustaining their medical practices and help practicing physicians in navigating the changing healthcare system.

Since its inception, the Foundation has provided more than $49 million in grants to nonprofit organizations, universities, hospital systems and medical society foundations.

All aspects of the Foundation’s work, from research to grantmaking, to events, are designed to achieve the following goals:

  • Educate physicians on the leadership skills necessary to drive healthcare excellence.
  • Understand physician practice trends and help physicians deliver quality care to their patients.
  • Meet the current and future needs of all patients by assessing the supply of physicians.
  • Provide practicing physicians with resources and support to manage healthcare reform and succeed in today’s challenging healthcare environment.

As America evaluates changes in healthcare policy, the perspectives of practicing physicians and their patients must be heard – and addressed.

By surveying practicing physicians and patients, as well as closely studying the impact of various government policies, the Foundation can share critical insights on the issues affecting the U.S. healthcare system the most. The Foundation believes the voice of the physician must be heard in key policy discussions.
