Honoring new and early career physicians for extraordinary actions in their practice or community

Program Overview

The Physicians Foundation Leadership Award Program honors the next generation of physician leaders by recognizing new and early-career physicians for extraordinary actions in their practices and communities. The Dr. Buz Cooper Award for Addressing Drivers of Health recognizes physicians who go above and beyond to address drivers of health in their communities.

Eligibility Requirements

Requirements

    Awards are open to physicians who are new or mid-career (practicing less than 15 years).

    Nominees should demonstrate physician leadership in the relevant award category.

  • Tick mark icon

    Award applications should include a short statement of recommendation from a sponsor, such as a mentor, colleague or peer.

  • Tick mark icon

    Nominees should submit a brief video, a current resume or CV, and a statement describing how the award will enable them to continue making positive, constructive contributions to the medical profession.

Earn recognition on a national level and receive an award of $10,000 to further the efforts for which you are being recognized to address DOH or innovate physician practice.

Share Perspectives

Be positioned as a thought expert by sharing perspectives in media interviews, op-eds, blogs and social media on how to improve health care delivery.

Required Commitments

As part of receiving the award, recipients must agree to lend their perspective to the Foundation. Award recipients are required to sign a formal agreement to commit to these requirements.
