Grant Details
FMA Physician Leadership Academy
The purpose of the grant is to collaborate with the Leadership Development Institute at the University of Florida to continue its statewide physician leadership program. The Florida Medical Association Foundation received previous support to develop this physician leadership program. The new project will expand to include coaching and mentoring by program graduates as well as the development of program-specific social media site, FMA Connect. There will be five full-day sessions over 10 months geared toward young doctors, under age 45. The program will cover topics including leadership fundamentals, creating institutional change, developing and changing organizational culture, relationship building and individual development, and communication skills. Continuing Medical Education credits will be offered to participating physicians. Each graduate must become involved in a leadership role with the organization after graduating.
