Don Alexander is a board member of The Physicians Foundation and chair of the PR Task Force.

He previously served as chief executive officer of the Tennessee Medical Association, where he worked and served in leadership positions for more than 40 years.  His extensive experience with physicians and healthcare stakeholders positions him as an expert in healthcare administration and quality.

Prior to his position with TMA, Mr. Alexander worked as a health education consultant with the Georgia and Tennessee Regional Public Health Service.

Mr. Alexander is a member of the American Association of Medical Society Executives and the American and Tennessee Societies for Association Executives.  He also serves as secretary of the Physicians Advocacy Institute and is a former board member of the State Volunteer Mutual Insurance Company and the Physician Insurers Association of America’s Medical Executive Section.

Mr. Alexander holds a master’s degree in Public Health from the University of Tennessee – Knoxville.
