South Carolina’s Practice Transformation Initiatives
The mission of this initiative is: to advance research and promote evidence-based solutions that improve patient care by enhancing professional fulfillment and reducing clinician burnout. Two domains of research will be undertaken through this important effort: 1) continue to monitor trends and correlations on prevalence, causes and impacts of burnout and 2) expand research that identifies evidence-based interventions shown to improve delivery models of care at the practice and system level, while increasing joy in medicine.
The later research domain will involve distributing designated funding from the AMA through a rigorous grant application process to health care systems, cohorts of small practices and other innovative collaborations committed to participating in standardized practice science research. The initiative will conduct field research, convene experts, activate change within the practice and recognize success by disseminating finding on evidenced-based solutions that increase professional satisfaction.
