Bay Area Physician Leadership Program
The Alameda-Contra Costa Medical Association (ACCMA) Community Health Foundation (CHF) is 501c3 subsidiary of the ACCMA, a Non-Profit professional association of over 5,000 physicians in Alameda and Contra Costa Counties, founded in 1860 to promote health care quality and access to care. The ACCMA has a long history of leadership and innovation, and has developed numerous programs throughout its history to support the professional development of physicians. In 2017, the Physician Leadership Program was launched in partnership with UC Berkeley.
This project aims to expand the Physician Leadership Program course to continue to enhance our leadership development capabilities through activities, like developing several mini-courses on practical and actionable leadership skills, holding monthly reading and discussion groups on books related to physician leadership and hosting a wellness leadership conference in 2022 for physician wellness leaders from a wide range of health based backgrounds. The ACCMA, in collaboration with a few regional medical association partners, hopes to serve as a convener; inspiring medical groups and health systems to invest in clinician leadership and wellness, and to provide them the framework to do so strategically and productively.
