Leadership Institute’s Leadership Learning Center Enduring Content and Mastery Leadership Sessions
Physicians require focused, high quality leadership training that has been developed with their unique needs and schedules in mind. Leadership Institute programs are designed to address comprehensive skill development against competencies identified as necessary in a variety of leadership settings. Programs are delivered through varied mechanisms, including weekend workshops, live sessions, videos, etc.
This next phase of the Leadership Institute seeks to develop, implement, and evaluate Leadership Learning Center Enduring Content (an online portal launched in 2015) and Mastery Leadership Sessions that will be facilitated at AAD’s meetings. These engagement strategies expand upon the Leadership Institute Advanced Leadership Sessions previously supported by The Physicians Foundation. Currently, the Leadership Learning Center offers a limited video library with 3-5 minute videos, an extensive leadership reading list and reference/linking to session information at upcoming meetings and podcast from Dialogues in Dermatology that carries 2.0 Category 1 CME credits.
Leadership Institute Mastery Leadership Sessions was implemented at 75th Annual Meeting, March 3-7, 2017, and target meeting attendees who identify themselves as evolving, advanced-level leaders. AAD is developing comprehensive leadership sessions to facilitate skill development against competencies identified as necessary for physicians/dermatologists to excel. The Leadership Institute emphasizes key leadership competencies for physicians/dermatologists and will provide offerings at the Emerging, Advanced and Mastery Levels (outlined below):
