CardioSafe: Building a Safe, Respectful, and Psychologically Secure Workplace for Cardiologists
The American College of Cardiology Foundation’s (ACCF) CardioSafe initiative is a two-year, five-part program designed to research and mitigate patient-initiated mistreatment and discrimination within the cardiology workforce. By combining national data collection with the development of educational modules and a learning collaborative, the project seeks to equip clinicians with de-escalation skills and leadership tools to foster safer care environments. Ultimately, CardioSafe aims to create a scalable model that other medical societies can adopt to improve clinician well-being and patient safety across the broader healthcare system.
