Founded after Dr. Lorna Breen’s 2020 death by suicide, the Dr. Lorna Breen Heroes’ Foundation (LBF) addresses systemic conditions driving physician burnout through advocacy, collaboration, and scalable solutions.
The Caring for Caregivers (C4C) program identified a market gap: while individual burnout tools exist, organizations lack a way to assess their own programmatic approach to wellbeing, leading to the development of The Breen Scale™. This standardized framework evaluates a clinical practice environment’s maturity across Organizational Strategy, Leadership Approach, and Wellbeing Systems — spanning three levels from Starting to Transforming — and generates data-driven roadmaps for system-wide improvement.
