Training Physician Leaders to Advance a More Just Workplace

The Massachusetts Medical Society & Alliance Charitable Foundation ( MMS & ACF ) was established, as a supporting organization of the Massachusetts Medical Society (MMS) in May of 2000, and, as such the MMS&ACF exists to support the society’s charitable and educational activities. “Training Physician Leaders to Advance a More Just Workplace” is a Physician Leadership Program (PLP) based on educational needs to promote leadership opportunities for underrepresented physicians while addressing racism and health equity issues, with the goal of improving patient care. The PLP, designed by the Massachusetts Medical Society (MMS), and the Heller School for Social Policy and Management at Brandeis University (Brandeis University), furthers the charitable mission of the MMS&ACF.

The PLP is designed to provide current and future physician leaders, particularly underrepresented and female physicians, with strategies and skills to enhance their ability to lead and influence individuals within their organizations while meeting business priorities. A comprehensive curriculum, offered in-person, will foster active learning for 25-30 physicians from March 2-5, 2023 at the Babson Executive Conference Center in Wellesley, MA.
