Toward Accountable Care Consortium and Initiative
The NCMSF and the NCMS have convened a Consortium of medical societies and organizations for the purpose of providing the medical community, whether in independent practice or employed by a hospital or health system, with the knowledge and tools needed to understand, participate in, navigate, lead, and succeed in a value-driven health care system. The goals are:
- Utilizing a multi-media approach, educate physicians and the medical community in NC and beyond about accountable care, and encourage general physician engagement and leadership in the development of accountable care models.
- Develop up to 10 specialty-specific toolkits, and provide tools for emerging accountable care organizations to use when applying for programs that have gained or are gaining traction (e.g., CMS Shared Saving and Advanced Payment ACO Model, bundled payments).
- Create a NC ACO Collaborative for ACOs to share successes and limitations.
- Respond to physician and medical community needs for resources.
