Physician Leadership Academy of South Florida
Building on the four successful years from 2016 to 2020 of the Physician Leadership Academy of South Florida (PLA), the Palm Beach County Medical Society plans to offer an enhanced physician leadership program which would build upon the knowledge acquired by the PLA experience.
The PLA would look for eligible candidates who:
-want to build and enhance their leadership knowledge and skills and become more actively engaged in their local communities,
-would want to gain a greater understanding of the dynamics of both the south Florida and state of Florida health care and political landscapes, and
-are particularly interested in becoming more involved in their respective county and our state medical associations.
The Physician Leadership Academy of South Florida program was held face to face until March 2020. Due to COVID-19, an alternative format was established via web-based live trainings. At this time they propose to continue live web-based trainings due to COVID-19 concerns. They propose to incorporate trainings which provide leadership skills to address financial and organizational challenges faced in turbulent times.
