Can AI-Powered Clinical Decision Support Improving Physician Wellbeing?

“Providence traces its roots to 1856 when the Sisters of Providence opened St. Paul’s Hospital in Vancouver, Canada. Over the years, it expanded its mission to encompass a wide range of healthcare services, including acute, long-term, rehabilitative, and palliative care. Providence is a seven-state healthcare system, one of the largest in the country. With 52 hospitals and 120,000 staff serving in Alaska, Washington, Oregon, California, Montana, Texas, and New Mexico, they annually serve over 7 million patients. Overall, 83% of Providence employees work in medically underserved areas; 27% work in rural areas. Providence Healthcare’s mission is to be steadfast in serving all, especially those who are at risk and vulnerable.

Their size and scale allow them to examine the best new treatments and innovations in a wide range of settings and contexts. That ability to look across large populations and diverse geographies—from major metropolitan areas to rural communities, and everything in between—means thry are suited to test real-world effectiveness and drive context-informed healthcare transformation.

Through this project, they aim to understand the relationship between the MedPearl AI-powered tool and physician well-being within the Providence Healthcare system.”
