Physician Leadership Institute

The purpose of the grant is to launch a new and innovative physician leadership program  to identify, cultivate, train, and mentor physician leaders for organized medicine.  The Center for A Healthy Maryland will partner with MedChi to establish the Physician Leadership Institute, which will house all physician leadership activities of MedChi.  The first step will be to create an advisory group that will evaluate existing programs through the Leadership Development Effectiveness Assessment.  Based on the evaluation, the advisory group and MedChi will prepare a formal leadership development plan.  Under the Physician Leadership Institute, MedChi will offer a series of Leadership Summits held throughout the state with various partners.  The Leadership Summits will provide CME approved educational training for physician leadership.  Topics will focus on team building, trust, communications.  Additional topics will be identified through the Leadership Development Effectiveness Assessment. The Leadership Development Summits will be captured and edited into resources and webinars. Continuing Medical Education credits will be offered for the program.
