Robert Monteiro, MD, is a Board Member of The Physicians Foundation. Dr. Monteiro is a board certified Internist with over 20 years of practice experience. Prior to joining Wake Internal Medicine Consultants, he practiced in New Bern for 18 years at East Internal Medicine, East Carolina Internal Medicine, and was most recently the medical director of the Executive Health Clinic at UNC.

In 2012, Dr. Monteiro served as president of the North Carolina Medical Society. When he is not working, he enjoys spending time at the Carolina coast with his family.
