Physician Leadership Development Program

Based on learnings from past leadership projects, MSVF will create a new physician leadership program dedicated to training physician leaders to effectively lead interprofessional teams. Topics to be covered include leading organizational change and innovation, health care finance, conflict resolution, strategic thinking, burnout prevention, resiliency, and work-life balance. A combination of web-based resources and face-to-face meetings will facilitate a “community of practice model,” which will provide ongoing support as physicians face real-world leadership challenges. Experts in the field will be invited as speakers throughout the program. MSVF will continue to develop educational materials on the topic of burnout to address this gap in the field. Activities covered in this two-year grant begin with developing partnerships and designing the program and end with implementing and evaluating one cohort.  A second cohort is planned for the third program year.
