Physician Leadership Academy of South Florida (SFL-Excellence in Leadership Institute)
Building on the two successful years from 2016 to 2018 of the Physician Leadership Academy of South Florida (PLA) held under the auspices of the Palm Beach County Medical Society, in collaboration with the Broward County Medical Association and Dade County Medical Association; and with the support of The Physicians Foundation, the Palm Beach County Medical Society plans to offer an enhanced physician leadership program which would build upon the knowledge acquired by the PLA experience. The program would be offered to physicians who are members of the three medical associations. Each of the three associations would nominate candidates to the PLA.
The PLA would look for candidates who:
-want to build and enhance their leadership knowledge and skills and become more actively engaged in their local communities,
-would want to gain a greater understanding of the dynamics of both the south Florida and state of Florida health care and political landscapes, and
-are particularly interested in becoming more involved in their respective county and our state medical associations.
