The Mississippi State Medical Association Foundation Inc. is the 501(c)(3) charitable and educational arm of MSMA. The MSMA was organized to provide educational and financial support for physicians. This includes : promoting health education to the public, providing funding for medical research, developing educational programs for physicians, providing educational assistance for medical students, and providing grants to medical professionals whose practices have been impacted by disaster. The main goal of the MSMA Foundation is to develop and support emerging physician leaders to enhance leadership skills and provide training in core aptitudes to excel as future leaders.

The Indiana Medical Foundation (IMF) operates under the control of the Indiana State Medical Association (ISMA). The IMF's mission is to provide professional, practical, continuing or other educational and leadership programs for Indiana physicians. Since 2016, the IMF’s Physician Leadership Program has implemented sponsored leadership development programs that utilize the expertise of local community experts. This has helped to equip physicians with the knowledge and skills they need to work with teams and staff members to coordinate optimal patient care.

The Alameda-Contra Costa Medical Association (ACCMA) Community Health Foundation (CHF) is 501c3 subsidiary of the ACCMA, a non-profit professional association of over 5,000 physicians in Alameda and Contra Costa Counties, founded in 1860 to promote health care quality and access to care. The ACCMA has a long history of leadership and innovation, and has developed numerous programs throughout its history to support the professional development of physicians. In 2017, the Physician Leadership Program was launched in partnership with UC Berkeley.

The Georgia Physicians Leadership Academy (GPLA) was established in 2007 to provide organized medicine at the local, state, and national levels. GPLA maintains an ever-growing population of effective leaders by equipping physicians with the tools, skills, and learning opportunities needed to holistically fill the role of a leader, and to in turn mentor aspiring leaders. The program is a year long and is broken down into six sessions. The curriculum is centered around developing skills around media communication, conflict resolution, and advocacy.

Building on the four successful years from 2016 to 2020 of the Physician Leadership Academy of South Florida (PLA), the Palm Beach County Medical Society plans to offer an enhanced physician leadership program which would build upon the knowledge acquired by the PLA experience.

The PAGNY Health & Research Foundation, Inc. (PHRF) will provide a Coaching Skills Development Program for physicians in the NYC public hospital system.

KIPL’s overall approach is to provide practicing physicians and other members of the healthcare team experiential learning paired with mentoring and coaching to give them skills necessary to lead in a complex and rapidly changing environment.

This program is designed to deal with the reality that, for a variety of reasons, women physicians have become a growing and more important force in the delivery of health care but have not achieved leadership equilibrium with their male colleagues.

The Medical Society of Virginia Foundation plans to expand their Physician Leadership Institute, utilizing lessons learned from the 2019 cohort.

The primary purpose of the YPLC is to provide structured learning opportunities for young physicians to develop a comprehensive skill set that serves as a foundation for physicians to develop as educators and leaders.
