Ready to Lead: Physician Leadership Training for the Integrated Group Setting
The Ready to Lead program will teach 15 of California’s emerging physician leaders about value-based payment models and provide them with the tools they need to navigate California’s increasingly integrated health care environment. The curriculum will also include discussion of clinical quality and performance improvement strategies, communication skills, governance and finance. Existing primary care leaders will be recruited to serves as mentors over the 18-month program. The three in-person workshops will include an initial two-day convening, a one day workshop, and final culminating event where program graduates present their capstone projects. Faculty will be drawn from the University of California – San Francisco, the California Academy of Physician Groups, and CAFP’s vast network of experts. The applicant will also develop a free web-based Resource Center, which will include the program curriculum, webinars, a discussion board, and resource library.
