Kentucky Physician Leadership Institute
Based on the success and lessons learned from the KFMC’s previous leadership project called the Kentucky Physicians Leadership Initiative (KPLI), KFMC would like to fashion a physician leadership project over two years called the Kentucky Physicians Leadership Institute. The Institute would be a four weekend cohort program limited to fifteen physicians who apply for the program and pay tuition to attend. Attendees would participate in classroom activities and lectures, a reception/dinner, and a “fireside chat” with a specific individual.
The first weekend session will cover personal leadership, with an emphasis on communication skills. The second weekend will cover business leadership, which will include the components of health care organizations and the language of business. The third weekend will consist of advocacy leadership skills. And the final weekend will be held during the KMA Annual Meeting and open to all physicians, with the fifteen participants leading portions of the program.
