Women Physicians: Taking Leadership Roles in the Medical Community
This program is designed to deal with the reality that, for a variety of reasons, women physicians have become a growing and more important force in the delivery of health care but have not achieved leadership equilibrium with their male colleagues. The reasons are both sociological and financial and also reflect the fact that women physicians tend to select the lower paid specialties.
The Medical Educational & Scientific Foundation of New York proposes to follow the proven format of recent MESF leadership seminars. This involves starting on a Friday afternoon, carrying through with a dinner and roundtable discussion and utilizing all day Saturday for lectures and discussions. Attendance will be limited to women physicians. Lecture emphasis will focus on creditable skills women physicians need to advance their status in the medical workforce.
