Mississippi State Medical Association Physician Leadership Academy

“Mississippi State Medical Association Foundation, along with the Mississippi State Medical Association, seeks to prepare leaders who can rise to the challenges of the complex issues facing medical organizations by helping them to understand themselves, appreciate the differences in others, build relationships, develop and work with teams. This in-depth program provides training in core aptitudes such as communications, marketing, public speaking an advocacy in order to excel as future leaders not only in their practices but also in organized medicine. MSMA Physician Leadership Academy supports the goal of MSMA to advance its leadership efforts.

MSMA offers several one-hour leadership courses at various educational events throughout the year such as their annual Young Physicians Section sponsored CME event which provides over 17 hours of CME with over 200 attendees as well as their Annual House of Delegates. This project includes the development of several one-hour presentations for use at the local component and specialty medical societies across the state. Each session is CME accredited and the sessions is provided at no cost to physicians members. These sessions focus on effective team-building, leadership techniques, leadership qualities and challenges as well as physician wellness.”
