NCMS Foundation’s Kanof Institute for Physician Leadership
The NCMSF currently focuses its work on two programs: the Community Practitioner Program and the Kanof Institute for Physician Leadership (KIPL). Over the next two years, NCMSF will train 2 cohorts of the Leadership College and two cohorts of Health Care Leadership and Management. It will also grow KIPL faculty and train 10-15 more MDs and PAs to become expert facilitators. While each educational track has its own unique focus and audience, KIPL’s overall approach is to provide practicing physicians and other members of the health care team experiential learning paired with mentoring and coaching to give them the necessary skills to lead in a complex and rapidly changing environment. KIPL curriculum builds from the NCMSF Leadership Model that focuses on seven leadership dimensions, which have been researched and validated. The model includes systems thinking as well as context while strongly emphasizing authenticity and emotional intelligence.
